Facing tides

Things change, and I think you already know that. What do you do when change comes? Where do you turn to deal with the stress that comes with change? How does that work for you? Now, before it seems like I’m navigating life changes like a pro, I don’t always do it.

It’s a challenge that comes over and over again throughout life. And sometimes change is an unwelcome guest who just waits too long. Change and uncertainty can arise from all kinds of sources. It may be the natural course of things in your life, or it may be the result of a bad decision made by you or someone else. No matter the source, there will definitely be challenges, and we can be even more confident that God is still there.

Relax. That’s the best thing you can do for yourself when things change and life moves on. Rest helps your mind because the effects of stress are greater when you’re tired. Rest also helps the body, as a stressed body is more prone to illness. Please take care and get some rest. And don’t forget to take a serious rest day once the situation returns to normal. (Matthew 11:28-30)

Ask for help. It took me half my adult life to understand that asking for help is a strength, not a weakness. God has given you resources in the form of people who care more than you know and want to help more than you know. Don’t worry about it alone; talk to someone you trust. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
