The Season of Harvest is Now

According to the Bible, those who obey God are blessed.

“Blessed is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked, does not stand in the way of sinners, and does not sit in the seat of scoffers;” However, he spends every waking moment meditating on the Lord’s law because it is his favorite subject. He is like a tree planted by watercourses that bears fruit when it is ready and never loses its leaves. Psalm 1:1-3 says, “He prospers in all that he does.”

The harvest serves as a metaphor for spiritual fruitfulness and judgment in the Bible. Our efficiency in God’s realm is attached to our confidence and submission.

The following verses from the Bible about the harvest can help us comprehend how to be devoted followers of Jesus.

Galatians 6:7-8 says, “You reap what you sow.” Do not be deceived: God isn’t taunted, for anything one sow, that will he likewise harvest. For the person who sows to his own tissue will from the tissue procure defilement, however, the person who sows to the Soul will from the Soul harvest everlasting life.

The point is made in 2 Corinthians 9:6: whoever plants sparingly will likewise procure sparingly, and whoever plants abundantly will likewise harvest plentifully.

Parable of the sower

Listen to the parable of the sower in Mark 4:3–9. A sower set out to sow, as you can see. Some seed fell along the path as he sowed, and the birds came and ate it.

Another seed landed on rocky ground with little soil and immediately sprouted because there was no soil beneath it. Also, when the sun rose, it was seared, and since it had no root, it wilted away.

Other seed fell among thistles, and the thistles grew up and stifled it, and it yielded no grain.

Additionally, additional seeds were planted in fertile soil, germinated, and produced grain that multiplied by thirty, sixty, and one hundred.

And he said, “Let him hear who has ears to hear.”

Harvest as a Metaphor for God’s Judgment

Jeremiah 8:20

The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Hosea 6:11

For you also, O Judah, a harvest is appointed, when I restore the fortunes of my people.

Joel 3:13

Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Go in, tread, for the winepress is full. The vats overflow, for their evil is great.

Matthew 13:30

Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.

Matthew 13:39

And the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the close of the age, and the reapers are angels.

A Time to Sow and to Harvest

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

For everything, there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted.
